Want
to know something interesting? Lately, I have been speaking to people
from both sides of the isle and all share one question: Where's the
change we believed in?
Democrats and Republicans have been left
wondering what exactly the President has done and where all of the
"benefits" of a socialist welfare system have gone.
One woman shared
with me, "He shouldn't have been bailing out banks and car industries -
he should have been bailing out me, the consumer. I get money, I buy
thing, I pump more money into companies who can then afford to offer
jobs and buy products that further other companies. The American people
are what fuel our economy, not green paper." Keep in mind, this was a
Democrat who voted for Obama.
A Republican friend mentioned, "Those
RINO's on the hill aren't doing squat. They don't keep promises."
Americans all over are realizing the change didn't happen with the 2008
election; the change needs to happen NOW. November 2nd, we are going to
see that change.
I am actually flying to Washington D.C. to be an
eye-witness to the restoration of our government. This restoration will
fill the seats of Congress with people who actually believe in what they
say they stand for; who prioritize the people who gave them their job
FIRST and place themselves last.
This change isn't from one party
beating the other. This change is from the unity of the American people,
no matter what party, speaking out together. This type of unity isn't a
calm gathering of hippies holding hands around a campfire and singing.
This unity is a result of a frustrated, jobless, and financially hurt
people who will no longer stand for career-politicians who only care
about what makes themselves look good. This unity is the change we can
believe in, the change that will bring back America.
Big Brother, Your New Doctor

It's time to open wide and say 'AHHHHH!!!!' After creating socialized medicine, the federal government is now checking up on your personal health. The Obama administration is giving you a prescribed diet and beginning to monitor what you eat. That's right. Big Brother is giving you a prescribed diet. They started with restaurants, moved to schools, and are now beginning to regulate what is available to you in public areas.
For years, children young and old have enjoyed kids meals from fast food restaurants, but familiar faces like Ronald McDonald and the Burger King are being sent to 'time-out' with orders from the federal government. According to CNS News in September 2009, a childhood obesity report called for "government regulations to limit access to 'unhealthy' restaurant chains." Notice those words: regulate and limit access. All in the name of fighting 'childhood obesity.
CNS reports, "the Institute for Medicine and the National Research Council details strategies for local governments to combat what it calls an epidemic of childhood obesity, including enacting zoning and land-use regulations that would 'restrict fast food establishments near school grounds and public playgrounds.' Putting this in clearer terms, the government would be able to deny a fast food restaurant a location near a school. The government needs to be reminded of a thing called 'freedom.' Childhood obesity isn't a problem because of fast-food chains. It is a problem because people have no self-control and parental discipline is lacking. Americans have a right to chose what they eat.
Should a healthy life be applauded?
Absolutely! But this encouragement should come from gyms, weight loss centers, and doctors , not the federal government. But here's the cherry on top; CNS explained, 'The report also advises local governments to impose higher taxes 'to discourage consumption of foods and beverages that have minimal nutritional value' and to mandate that chain restaurants provide caloric information on menus.'
Back up!
That just said the report advises the government to impose higher taxes to discourage consumption. Section eight of the U.S. Constitution says nowhere that the purpose for taxation is to discourage Americans from anything. This is a blatant manipulation of power to persuade, or control, the choices of the people.
It doesn't end there.
Big Brother is giving check-ups to your children's public school cafeterias as well. For example, Florida may ban chocolate milk from schools. Fox News reports on September 23, 2010 'The Florida Board of Education voted Tuesday on a plan that will remove all sugary drinks in schools, including soda and flavored milk.'
Speaking of sugary drinks, Boston may have another type of tea party; however this one includes dumping sodas into the harbor. Fox News reports on September 20, 2010, 'Boston, the city that has already banned smoking in bars and trans-fats in restaurants, now wants to keep sugary drinks out of city-owned buildings. The city has convened health, education, and housing leaders to develop a policy that aims to reduce consumption of sugar-sweetened sodas and other beverages.' All in the name of fighting obesity!
Let's not forget Dr. Michelle Obama's cure! Restaurants should change their recipes and offer healthier options, even if it means deleting a most popular dish or two and hurting sales. That's right small business owners. Already having trouble making ends meet? Dr. Obama suggests you sacrifice your income for carrot sticks instead of fries.
Grocery stores offer a wide variety of fruits and vegetables. There are massive amounts of healthy food available to Americans by bulk or in even more convenient forms like granola bars. In fact, a new Gallup Poll of more than 176,000 Americans finds that 92% of Americans report easy access to affordable fresh produce. Gallop also found that the "healthy eating" initiative by the government did not meet its goal and the veggie and fruit consumption numbers have actually been declining in the last two years.
The Constitution does not afford the government the right to control our food intake. This country is facing the largest national debt in history. Every day, soldiers are sacrificing their lives fighting in foreign countries so our freedoms may be preserved. The government has no business slapping Americans on the hand every time they reach for a curly fry.
