Call for Obama's resignation cites 'deceit, fraud, dishonesty'
'We can wait no longer for a traditional change of power and new government'
A retired U.S. militaryleader who now is a presence on the Internet with his Stand Up For America and Veterans Defenderswebsites has issued a call for President Obama's resignation and a new election to replace him.
The call comes from Maj. Gen. Paul E. Vallely, who served in Vietnam and retired in 1991 from the U.S. Army as deputy commanding general for the Pacific.
"We now must call for the immediate resignation of Barry Soetero (AKA President Barack Hussein Obama) … based on incompetence, deceit, fraud, corruption, dishonesty and violation of the U.S. oath of office and the Constitution," he said in remarks delivered to a Lincoln Reagan dinner in Virginia City, Mont., last week and published today on the Stand Up America website.
"And a call for a national petition for new elections to select the next president of the United States of America must be initiated," he continued. "We can wait no longer for a traditional change of power and new government."
A number of retired military members have sought the removal of Obama from office. They mostly have tried to utilize the courts to challenge his eligibility based on claims he fails to meet the U.S. Constitution's requirement that a president be a "natural born citizen." Few have asserted Obama needs to walk away from the Oval Office for the best of the nation.
"The Declaration of Independence states: 'To secure these rights, governments are instituted among men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, that whenever any form of government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the right of the people to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to affect their safety and happiness,'" Vallely said in his remarks.
"We cannot permit the current leaders in the White House and halls of Congress to continue in their efforts to lead us down the road of progressive socialism and destruction of America. This is the current battle that we constitutionalists face, and we must be aggressive in our efforts," he said.
He pointed out that the oath of office for the president is basic, stating, "I do solemnly swear that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic, that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same, that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion, and that I will faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter: So help me God."
"Sadly, we have seen them violate their oath. Fraud, lying, and corruption are rampant and some have engaged in treasonous activities, and they effectively thumb their noses at us and have sold you to the highest bidder," he said.
"Lincoln issued this warning in his inaugural address, 'Any people anywhere, being inclined and having the power, have the right to rise up and shake off the existing government and form a new one. This is a most valuable and sacred right – a right which we hope and believe is to liberate the world,'" Vallely said.
"Being a representative republic, not a democracy, 'rising up' means other than revolution by means of arms. The people must 'rise up' from the grass roots across this great country as we think of the greater good of this and future generations. We are limited in the peaceful transfer of power…resignation, death, elections, and impeachment," he said.
"'We the People' have had enough. Enough is enough. The Obama White House and identifiable members of Congress are now on a progressive socialist, treasonous death march and are bankrupting and weakening the country. We have watched them violate their sacred oath of office. 'We, the People' cannot wait for and solely rely on the next round of elections in November of this year. It is now and each day that these public servants must put the citizen's interests above self-interest by resigning immediately," he said.
Vallely graduated from West Point and was commissioned in the Army in 1961. He served 32 years before retiring, including in theaters in Europe and the Pacific Rim.
He saw two tours of combat duty in Vietnam.
He's of late been a military analyst for the Fox News Channel and a lecturer on counter-terrorism. From 1982 to 1986 he commanded the 351st Civil Affairs Command that included all special forces, psychological warfare and civil military units in the Western United States and Hawaii.
He told WND he is speaking as an American citizen who wants to see the nation restored to a role of world leadership peacefully.
Vallely said Obama's record is of failure at just about everything, from the massive buckets of cash handed out in his bailout programs to his instability on foreign policy and his "lack of resolve" on military issues.
He said while he doesn't call himself a "birther," even the issue of Obama's eligibility remains unresolved.
"Certainly as a citizen I don't buy off on his eligibility," he said.
But more significant than Obama's record, history, qualifications or even presidency is the nation's future, he said.
"We cannot continue to self-destruct here."
He said he's calling for the resignation of the president because that's what responsible citizens should be doing. Congress, certainly, is not going to take responsibility and get the job done, he said.
"I want the people to stand up and take government back, peacefully," he told WND.
On Vallely's website, forum participants were in lock-step:
"As a Vietnam veteran and believer in the Constitution I am in full support of these observations and comments," said Ralph Kennedy. "It seems that even the military forces have been in decline along with the political culture in our country since Mr. Obama has been in place. … I applaud the courage and the common sense exhibited by Mr. Vallely in his statement."
Added Ronald Hei, "As a Vietnam veteran and retired military officer, I fully support Gen. Vallely's call for the resignation of Obama. Failing resignation, I call for the petition of the U.S. Congress (existing) for his impeachment for ALL of the transgressions listed above and some not listed."
David J. Austin said, "Our government under the current president has demonstrated moral corruptness in nearly all aspects of its performance. Our country and flag have been disgraced by the actions of Obama. … I would like to see the new Congress, after the 2010 elections, demand his immediate resignation or begin impeachment proceedings."
Peter Ferrara, on the American Spectator website, also has predicted Obama's resignation.
"I am now ready to predict that President Obama will not even make it [to 2012]," he wrote. "I predict that he will resign in discredited disgrace before the fall of 2012," Ferrera said.
In his Spectator piece, which came only days before Vallely's remarks, Ferrera said, "What leads me to predict President Obama's early political demise are his numerous, enormous vulnerabilities to further adverse developments, threatening a geometrically accelerating downward spiral, for him politically, and for America substantively."
Ferrara cited Obama's controversies over the Rep. Joe Sestak scandal, his lack of management of the Gulf oil spill, more and more taxes for Americans, a "blind" energy policy and others.
"The president himself has laid the foundation for his biggest political vulnerability of all," he said. "He won our votes and the election in 2008 with 'the firm pledge' not to raise taxes 'in any form' on anyone making less than $250,000 a year. Now he has already backed away from that pledge," he said.
A voter backlash against Democrats expected in November will result in Democrats themselves having "limited tolerance for the above described political pressures and chaos," he said.
"With the very survival of their party at stake, the Democrats will buckle and desert President Obama, joining the calls for his resignation.
"At that point, with zero prospects for re-election, and unable to govern effectively, he will resign," Ferrara said.
Other military officers have taken a more direct approach to challenging Obama's presidency.
The Constitution, Article 2, Section 1, states, "No Person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President."
WND has covered a multitude of challenges and lawsuits over the issue. Some have alleged that he was not born in Hawaii in 1961 as he has written, or that the framers of the Constitution specifically excluded dual citizens – Obama's father was a subject of the British crown at Obama's birth – from being eligible for the office.
Besides Obama's actual birth documentation, the still-concealed documentation for him includes kindergarten records, Punahou school records, Occidental College records, Columbia University records, Columbia thesis, Harvard Law School records, Harvard Law Review articles, scholarly articles from the University of Chicago, passport, medical records, his files from his years as an Illinois state senator, his Illinois State Bar Association records, any baptism records, and his adoption records.
The "certification of live birth" posted online and widely touted as "Obama's birth certificate" does not in any way prove he was born in Hawaii, since the same "short-form" document is easily obtainable for children not born in Hawaii. The true "long-form" birth certificate – which includes information such as the name of the birth hospital and attending physician – is the only document that can prove Obama was born in Hawaii, but to date he has not permitted its release for public or press scrutiny.
It's a note by an anonymous blogger,
but it's making the rounds on the Internet
because it urges citizens to disrupt April 15 tea-party rallies from
the inside.
"Organize counter-protests against the tea party demonstrations,
same time, same place," the message states. "This is probably the best
option. We need to get in the streets on April 15th and show the
tea-party movement that there are lots of people out there who oppose
their agenda."
The tea parties are a general assortment of people with issues
ranging from opposition to high taxes
to concern over massive government expansion through President Obama's
socialist-type health care program and industry bailouts. If
there's a
common factor, it's opposition to Washington's agenda and a promotion of
individual rights and responsibilities.
The note posted on an anarchist blog
urges the nation's anarchists to carry out demonstrations to break up
tea-party rallies.
The writer
calls the tea parties "a coalition of conservatives, anti-Semites,
fascists, libertarians, racists, constitutionalists, militia men, gun
freaks, homophobes, Ron Paul supporters, Alex Jones conspiracy types and
American flag wavers."
The message warns of consequences if the tea party movement is
not derailed.
"If the tea-party movement continues to grow in size
and strength there is a big chance they will dominate this country in
the near future. If the tea-party movement takes over this country they
will really hurt poor people by getting rid of social programs like food
stamps, unemployment benefits, disability benefits, student aid, free
health care, etc," the note said.
The note accuses tea party activists of malicious intent.
"The tea-party movement will say these programs must be gotten
rid of because hard-working taxpayers cannot afford to pay for these
things especially when the economy is in a depression," the author
claims.
Under no circumstances should opponents ignore the tea parties,
the note warns.
"This is the worst option because without anyone opposing them
they could easily gain power," the author wrote.
The letter, noted by bloggers Gateway Pundit and Jawa Report, was
posted at Infoshop News, which is edited by Chuck, who asked that his
last name not be used.
The site's homepage says it provides "Anarchist news, opinion and
much more."
Chuck describes Infoshop News as "an independent news service,
online since 1997, which publishes a wide variety of news and opinion
from various authors,
groups and organizations. Our group does not have a position on tea
party rallies. We are just a news service."
The site acknowledges that its posting about the tea-party
rallies "has generated quite a controversy beyond our website" but
stated the call to disrupt tea-party rallies "was not written or
authored by Infoshop News."
"The Tea Party rally
story was probably written by one individual, so people should assume
it reflects the views of one particular, anonymous person," the
statement said.
The site explained Infoshop News "is run by anarchists and
libertarians and features news and opinion from anarchists, libertarians
and anti-authoritarians. The news service also includes material from
non-anarchist sources, as we think it's important to provide news,
information and opinion from different sources. We aim to buck the
dominant trend among American political news projects, which focus on
providing selective news and opinion for people who already agree with
that news and opinion. We favor a cross-pollination of ideas, within
some parameters. While our news service is popular with anarchists, we
also have many readers from other political persuasions."
Tea party leaders have not responded to requests for comment on
this story.
One of the major tea party groups, Tea Party Nation, along with ResistNet and several other
groups, is setting up a National Tea Party Unity Convention July 15-17
at the Palazzo Las Vegas Resort in Nevada.
"The speakers will
speak on the subject of uniting the conservative movement," Tea Party
Nation President Judson Phillips told WND. "One of the major purposes is
to get the groups to work together because we all have the same common
goal. We want to stop liberalism and socialism, and we need to be
working together, not against each other."

Wow! Home owners take note & tell your friends and relatives who
are home owners!!! Beginning 1 year after enactment of the Act, you
won’t be able to sell your home unless you retrofit it to comply with
the energy and water efficiency standards of this Act.
H.R. 2454, the “Cap & Trade” bill passed by the House of
Representatives, if also passed by the Senate, will be the largest tax
increase any of us has ever experienced. The Congressional Budget
Office (supposedly non-partisan) estimates that in just a few years the
average cost to every family of four will be $6,800 per year. No one is
excluded. However, once the lower classes feel the pinch in their
wallets, you can be sure these voters get a tax refund (even if they pay
no taxes at all) to offset this new cost. Thus, you Mr. and Mrs.
Middle Class America will have to pay even more since additional tax
dollars will be needed to bail out everyone else.
But wait. This awful bill (that no one in Congress has actually
read) has many more surprises in it.
Probably the worst one is this: A year from now you won’t be able to
sell your house.
Yes, you read that right. The caveat is (there always is a caveat)
that if you have enough money to make required major upgrades to your
home, then you can sell it. But, if not, then forget it. Even
pre-fabricated homes (”mobile homes”) are included.
In effect, this bill prevents you from selling your home without the
permission of the EPA administrator.
To get this permission, you will have to have the energy efficiency
of your home measured. Then the government will tell you what your new
energy efficiency requirement is and you will be forced to make
modifications to your home under the retrofit provisions of this Act to
comply with the new energy and water efficiency requirements. Then you
will have to get your home measured again and get a license (called a
“label” in the Act) that must be posted on your property to show what
your efficiency rating is; sort of like the Energy Star efficiency
rating label on your refrigerator or air conditioner If you don’t get a
high enough rating, you can’t sell. And, the EPA administrator is
authorized to raise the standards every year, even above the automatic
energy efficiency increases built into the Act.
The EPA administrator, appointed by the President, will run the Cap
& Trade program (AKA the “American Clean Energy and Security Act of
2009″) and is authorized to make any future changes to the regulations
and standards he alone determines to be in the government’s best
interest. Requirements are set low initially so the bill will pass
Congress; then the Administrator can set much tougher new standards
every year. The Act itself contains annual required increases in energy
efficiency for private and commercial residences and buildings.
However, the EPA administrator can set higher standards at any time.
Sect. 202:
Building Retrofit Program mandates a national retrofit program to
increase the energy efficiency of all existing homes across America.
Beginning 1 year after enactment of the Act, you won’t be able to
sell your home unless you retrofit it to comply with the energy and
water efficiency standards of this Act. You had better sell soon,
because the standards will be raised each year and will be really hard
(i.e., ex$pen$ive) to meet in a few years. Oh, goody! The Act allows
the government to give you a grant of several thousand dollars to comply
with the retrofit program requirements if you meet certain energy
efficiency levels. But, wait, the State can set additional requirements
on who qualifies to receive the grants. You should expect requirements
such as “can’t have an income of more than $50K per year”, “home
selling price can’t be more than $125K”, or anything else to target the
upper middle class (and that’s YOU) and prevent them from qualifying for
the grants Most of us won’t get a dime and will have to pay the entire
cost of the retrofit out of our own pockets. More transfer of wealth,
more “change you can believe in.”
Sect. 204:
Building Energy Performance Labeling Program establishes a labeling
program that for each individual residence will identify the achieved
energy efficiency performance for “at least 90 percent of the
residential market within 5 years after the date of the enactment of
this Act.” This means that within five years, 90% of all residential
homes in the U.S. must be measured and labeled. The EPA administrator
will get $50M each year to enforce the labeling program. The Secretary
of the Department of Energy will get an additional $20M each year to
help enforce the labeling program. Some of this money will, of course,
be spent on coming up with tougher standards each year. Oh, the label
will be like a license for your car. You will be required to post the
label in a conspicuous location in your home and will not be allowed to
sell your home without having this label. And, just like your car
license, you will probably be required to get a new label every so often
- maybe every year. But, the government estimates the cost of
measuring the energy efficiency of your home should only cost about $200
each time. Remember what they said about the auto smog inspections
when they first started: that in California it would only cost $15.
That was when the program started. Now the cost is about $50 for the
inspection and certificate; a 333% increase. Expect the same from the
home labeling program.
Sect. 304:
Greater Energy Efficiency in Building Codes establishes new energy
efficiency guidelines for the National Building Code and mandates at
304(d) that 1 year after enactment of this Act, all state and local
jurisdictions must adopt the National Building Code energy efficiency
provisions or must obtain a certification from the federal government
that their state and/or local codes have been brought into full
compliance with the National Building Code energy efficiency standards.

recess appointments on Saturday, including two new members of the
National Labor Relations Board. "The United States Senate has the
responsibility to approve or disapprove of my nominees," Obama said.
"But if, in the interest of scoring political points, Republicans in the
Sena...te refuse to exercise that responsibility, I
must act in the interest of the American people and exercise my
authority to fill these positions on an interim basis." Obama said the
appointees had waited an average of 214 days to be confirmed.

Ted Kennedy was the poster boy for redemption by liberal politics -- the sense that many on the left have that no matter how badly they behave personally, they have a claim on virtue because they support liberal policies. By mobilizing the power of the state to take money away from some to cater to the needs of others, they suddenly become great humanitarians.
Even the liberals on MSNBC this morning are framing their eulogies in terms of Teddy's battle with his dark side (and concluding that in the end light won because he got the government to spend a lot more money).
But Ted Kennedy faces a Judge far more powerful than any pundit, or indeed the electorate now. What any other mortal thinks of him now is irrelevant to his fate.

A couple things stand out this morning. First is the unspoken irony that a Senator being hailed today as a "lifelong champion of the poor and working people" passed away at his home in Hyannis Port." Enough said.
Second: As predicted many months ago by Rush Limbaugh, the left will use the death of their "liberal lion" to callously push health care reform in his memory. Already this morning one Democrat lawmaker has done just that. And I mean literally used his death for specifically that purpose.
Co ngressman Gregory Meeks of New York said on CNBC this morning that "I think his memory definitely will (play a role in the health care debate) .. and I would hope that this (meaning Kennedy's death) would cause us to sit down like never before to pass a bill -- and do it in a bipartisan way and do it in short order...that would be a fitting tribute to Senator Ed Kennedy."
You just can't make this stuff up.

For those readers unfamiliar with the events at Chappaquiddick Island, Martha's Vineyard, Massachusetts in 1969, here are the salient facts:
After a party on the island, Senator Edward Kennedy was driving a young staff worker, Mary Jo Kopechne somewhere late that night. He later said he was driving her to her hotel. She had, however, left her hotel key and pocketbook at the party.
Kennedy drove off the bridge to the mainland and plunged the car into the Poucha Pond inlet.
Kennedy managed to extricate himself with the car which was filling up with water. He later claimed that he had tried swimming to the car several times. Instead of immediately notifying the police he called a "Kennedy advisor." Kennedy spent the rest of that night huddled with "Kennedy advisors" to come up with a story. Later, Kennedy and two "Kennedy advisors" went to the scene of the accident and tried to swim to reach the c ar. None of the men thought they should notify the police.
Later Kennedy went back to his hotel room where he complained during the night that he couldn't sleep because of a loud party. That next morning Kennedy chatted with the winner of a sailboat race. Then Kennedy met with the same two "Kennedy advisors." The three men then went back to the scene of the accident. Still no one called the police. Using a pay phone there, Kennedy did call friends asking for advice.
Around that time fishermen had spotted the car in the water and called the police. A police diver later testified that, "Had I received a call within five to ten minutes of the accident occurring, and was able, as I was the following morning, to be at the victim's side within twenty-five minutes of receiving the call, in such event there is a strong possibility that she would have been alive on removal from the submerged car"
Kennedy who was standing nearby at a pay phone and saw the police had discovered the body. The police had run the license plate and discovered that the car belonged to Kennedy.
At around 10:00 AM Kennedy presented himself (with "Kennedy advisors") at the police station.
By the time he presented himself to the police a sobriety test was impossible.
The judge at the inquest decided that some of Kennedy's testimony about the events that night were lies. Nevertheless Kennedy was not prosecuted for anything more than leav ing the scene of an accident. He got a two-month suspended sentence. The judge said that Kennedy had an "unblemished record" and that he had "been, and will continue to be punished far beyond anything this court can impose."
A man whose shtick was about fairness and equality was only too happy to be treated by Massachusetts officials in a manner no person not named Kennedy would be treated. The rest of us would have been sent to jail for criminally negligent homicide (at the least).
July 18, 2009 was the 40th anniversary of Mary Jo Kopechne's homicide. She would have been 68 today.

What is Dr. Ezekial Emanuel's position on the late Ted Kennedy's treatments?
As Noemie Emery states in the Washington Examiner about Sen. Kennedy:
"According to the Politico, some of his drugs may cost $50,000 for one treatment, while the Obama plan relies on trimming back the expense and the scope of the end-of-life treatments given the elderly when they become very ill."
My more-than-rheto rical question for Dr. Emanuel is this: Do you consider these expensive treatments given to the late Sen. Kennedy a waste of the medical resources? Ted Kennedy's Senatorial medical insurance was funded by the federal government. These days few private institutions do not benefit indirectly or directly from the federal governments expenditures on medical education, Medicare or other programs.
So I ask again, we know Dr. Emanuel's general position against using extraordinary and expensive measures to extend the life of senior citizens. Does his position also apply to Sen. Kennedy's situation and is he willing to say that in public?

After the lionization is over; the casket is removed from the Capitol Rotunda, and the senator is laid to rest in Arlington National Cemetery next to his brothers, the Democrats at the prodding of Rahm "never waste a crisis" Emanuel will come out with a revised health care plan in honor of the late and "great" Ted Kennedy.
As Thomas Paine once wrote, "these are the times that try men's souls", our elected Republican representatives in Congress are going to be tested. Will they be able to stand up to the vitriol sure to come if they oppose TeddyCare? Will they be able to overcome the wave of emotion during the Teddy hero-worship that will no doubt come fro m the Democrats and their public relations firm, the mainstream media?
The Republican Party will no doubt crumble under the pressure if we the people are not there to man the ramparts of their crumbling spines.
We conservatives are going to have to be the badge of courage our Republican Cowardly Lions are going to need in the days ahead.

Rush Limbaugh framed the story brilliantly. Conservatives should celebrate the way Kennedy lived and died. He held on to the end, taking advantage of all that American medicine offers. He and his loving family all understood that life is precious, so very precious.
Sen. Kennedy faced no death counselors; nobody went through the VA deathbook with him, asking if he ever is moody.
It would be a travesty, sheer hypocrisy, Rush posits, to put Kennedy's name on a bill that offers Americans anything less than the treatment Kennedy's valiant fight with death embodied.
This strikes me wonderful jiu-jitsu. Republicans celebrating Kennedy's example at the end of life, his valiant spirit. The lion went out like a lion. The man of the people.

In all the talk of Kennedy's health care legacy, and his long Senate career, and personal foibles, one story not receiving enough attention is a key part of the Kennedy legacy -- poisoning the Senate confirmation process for Supreme Court nominees, starting with his defamatory slander of Robert Bork.

A column by former CBS correspondent Roger Mudd from January 2008 illustrates just how much this country is indebted to Ted Kennedy. Because without Ted Kennedy's behavior one evening in Augus t 1980, the Soviet Union and might not have been toppled, thousands of nuclear missiles might still be on a hair-trigger aimed at the cities of the United States, and millions of people might not have been freed from slavery in Eastern Europe. The American economy in a Jimmy Carter-induced tailspin that year-with mortgage rates as high as 20-21%, and the US government having to pay 15.5% to borrow money - might not have been righted until many years later.
The scene was the Democratic National Convention in Madison Square Garden on August 14, 1980. Carter had just finished his acceptance speech. As the band played "Happy Days Are Here Again" and the delegates cheered, Carter and his vice-president, Walter Mondale, bounded about the stage, their hands together, their arms outstretched like two triumphant prize fighters. The podium began to fill with the powers of the Democratic Party, governors and members of the Congress, all waving, smiling, winking and clapping. That final convention photograph had become mandatory - the televised symbol of party unity, with the victor and his vanquished opponents on the podium in happy harmony. But on August 14th, the vanquished, Teddy Kennedy, was missing from the picture. (snip)
Kennedy did finally arrive at Madison Square Garden. He gave Carter a perfunctory handshake and then seemed to turn his back on the President, skirting around the edges of the podium as party officials tried to arrange a victory photograph. Jules Witcover and Jack Germond, in Blue Smoke and Mirrors, quote a Carter intimate as saying the President "looked like a puppy dog" trotting after Kennedy. They also quote party chairman, Robert Strauss, after a reporter told him the scene "looked like hell," as saying "it looked worse than hell." Carter himself never recovered. He carried five states and the District of Columbia. In his memoir, Keeping Faith, he wrote that the news stories about the podium scene "emphasized his [Kennedy's] lack of enthusiasm as an indication that the spilt in our ranks had not healed. This accurate impression was quite damaging to our campaign, and was to linger for a long time."
Maybe not quite the destroyer of Carter's kingdom but close. Senator Kennedy, I remember watching you that evening. I remember watching President Carter chasing you around the stage. We must also lament that Kennedy will no longer be able to commit treason as he did in 1983 by contacting the KGB in an effort to coordinate strategy with Communist Party Chairman Yuri Andropov to undermine President Ronald Reagan's foreign policy. Then again, with Communist fellow travelers occupying the White House now, he won't have to worry about that anyway. I pray God may find it in his heart to forgive you, Senator Kennedy, for all the wreckage you have caused in the name of good intentions.

In 2000, I was among a group of people who were invited to the Oval Office to witness President Clinton sign the "Religious Land Use and Institutionalized Person's Act." Ted Kennedy was there to celebrate. He and leftist groups like the ACLU had managed to weaken the bill as much possible.
As we gathered around the "Resolute Desk" waiting for Clinton, who was about 45 minutes late arriving, Sen. Chris Dodd stood on the fringe holding Kennedy's huge, white standard poodle on a leash. I thought, "who but Ted Kennedy would bring a dog into the Oval Office, and who but Dodd would act as dog sitter?" He let the dog off the leash, and the dog started running around the office and barking. Kennedy finally motioned for Dodd to remove the dog.
It would have been apropos if the dog had conducted some business on the President's rug. Fortunately, the dog had more respect for the office than Kennedy and Dodd, and Clinton, for that matter. It was post Lewinsky.

What if I had told you that the Obama Justice Department would order FBI agents to read Miranda rights to high-value detainees captured on the battlefield and held at US military detention facilities in Afghanistan. That several of the suspected terrorists at Guantanamo would be sent to live in freedom in Bermuda at the expense of the US government. That some of our returning US veterans would be labeled terrorists and put on a watch list.

6. What if I had told you that the federal government would seek powers to seize key companies whose failures could jeopardize the financial system. That a new regulatory agency would be proposed by Obama to control loans, credit cards, mortgage-backed securities, and other financial products offered to the public.

7. What if I had told you that Obama would travel to the Middle East, bow before the Saudi king, and repeatedly apologize for America's past actions. That he would travel to Latin America where he would warmly greet Venezuela's strongman Hugo Chavez and sit passively in the audience while Nicaraguan Marxist thug Daniel Ortega charged America with terrorist aggression in Central America.

8. Okay, now what if I were to tell you that Obama wants to dismantle conservative talk radio through the imposition of a new "Fairness Doctrine." That he wants to curtail the First Amendment rights of those who may disagree with his policies via internet blogs, cable news networks, or advocacy ads. That most major network television and most newspapers will only sing his phrases like state-run media in communist countries?
Would you say, "Cmon that will never happen in America."
9. What if I were to tell you that the Obama Justice Department is doing everything it can to limit your Second Amendment rights to keep and bear arms. That the federal government wants to reinstate the so-called assault weapons ban which would prohibit the sale of any type of firearm that does not require the shooter to pull the trigger every time a round is fired. That Obama's Attorney General wants to eliminate the sale of virtually all handguns and ammunition, which most citizens choose for self-defense.
Would you say, "Cmon that will never happen in America."
10. What if I were to tell you that the Obama plan is to eliminate states rights guaranteed by the Tenth Amendment and give the federal government sweeping new powers over policies currently under the province of local and state governments and voted on by the people. That Obama plans to control the schools, energy production, the environment, health care, and the wealth of every US citizen.
Would you say, "C'mon, that will never happen in America."
11. What if I were to tell you that the president, the courts, and the federal government have ignored the US Constitution and have seized powers which the founders of our country fought to restrict. That our last presidential election may have been our last truly free election for some time to come. That our next presidential election may look similar to the one recently held in Iran. (And maybe under review by ACORN.)
I know - I know what you will say. That will never happen in America.
Hopefully you realize the significance of taking the census away from the Commerce Department and placing it under the White House, where Acorn has been given broad authority to manage it.
If we don't do everything in our power to stop this madness in 2010 and 2012, may God have mercy on our souls.

Democrats Strip Spending Amendments Trying to Cut Federal Funds for ACORN
"With a 40-seat majority, why are they so worried about the power of an amendment?" asked Rep. Aaron Schock, R-Ill., warning, "A dictatorship is quicker than democracy."
House Republicans complained about overspending on Wednesday after being denied opportunity a night earlier to offer three amendments to an annual spending bill that aimed to stop funding for community organizer ACORN and to investigate House Speaker Nancy Pelosi
The House plans to finish the $64 billion Departments of Commerce, Justice and Science spending bill on Wednesday or Thursday after Democrats outmaneuvered Republicans late Tuesday.
After fireworks on the House floor, Democrats stripped the three amendments that would have cut federal funds eligible to the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now, limited ACORN's role in the Census and launched a probe into House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.
ACORN has been sharply criticized by Republicans for allegedly using its large community base to campaign for President Obama's initiatives in violation of its non-profit status. It is also under investigation for alleged voter fraud in the 2008 presidential election.
House Republicans also wanted to fund a $2 million Justice Department investigation of Pelosi, D-Calif., and her allegation that the CIA lied to her about the interrogations of terror detainees.
The three amendments were among 127 total amendments ready for debate Tuesday night.
But House Democrats scrubbed many of those amendments after complaining Republicans were consuming too much time debating the amendments. The Rules Committee wrote up a new set of ground rules for considering the spending bill, including limiting the number of amendments to 33 -- nine Democratic- and 24 Republican-backed provisions.
The three amendments on Pelosi and ACORN were excluded from the final count.
Republicans have no parliamentary redress on those amendments. They expressed their outrage Wednesday.
"With a 40-seat majority, why are they so worried about the power of an amendment?" asked Rep. Aaron Schock, R-Ill., warning, "A dictatorship is quicker than democracy."
But GOP lawmakers also perhaps realized the futility of complaining about legislative debate rules and turned their complaints toward overspending.
"It was an outrageous abuse of the legislative process. But this is not about process. It's about runaway spending," said House GOP Conference Chairman Mike Pence, R-Ind.
