Our Christian beliefs have been trampled upon to the point that they do not have the positive impact they should upon our nation or our personal lives. There are far too many Christians who are still drinking doctrinal "milk" and have remained spiritually immature. We live in a land where many Christians are biblically illiterate and prone to fall prey to every whim and foolish thought. God commands His servants to "study to show yourself approved before God" (2 Timothy 2:15).
All one has to do is listen to the George Noory show or Michael Medved's "conspiracy day" on conservative talk radio to hear what professing Christians are embracing. It's shocking and sad. What does light have to do with darkness?
"I [Jesus] have come into the world as a light, so that no one who believes in me should stay in darkness" (John 12:46).
Need for spiritual rebirth
It seems that few within Christendom are truly "born again." They do not seek the Lord to strengthen their lives; rather, they pick and choose from the doctrinal teachings of their denomination or church of the week. God is set aside in order to accommodate their own comfort zone. This is the church's biggest spiritual dilemma, and if one reads the newspaper, the effects can be seen: We are reaping what we sow, and lawlessness abounds.
The evangelical mega-churches have become entertainment centers where God's Word is lost amongst the contemporary music and the jokes that glibly roll off the tongues of pastors who appear to be auditioning for American Idol. These types of "bless me" churches appeal to people who want to feel good, while the church fills its coffers. Once again, the Lord and His Word are lost within the razzle-dazzle lights and pablum sermons.
Members of these churches do little when it comes to donating time to their communities. They are like gypsies who rush from one church to another.
Progressing downward
In retrospect, it is curious that the Obama administration swept into Washington with the blessings of two prominent pastors. One was straight, and the other a practicing homosexual. Pastor Rick Warren sparked a "culture war" as he stood side by side with Gene Robinson, the gay Episcopal minister who also delivered an inaugural invocation. It set the stage for America's journey across treacherous "common ground."
Our country is inundated with false notions about homosexuality. The consensus in America at one time appropriately considered it to be deviant behavior. As a result of allowing progressives to set the moral tone in America, we foolishly fell into having a debate about same-sex marriages and what is considered "hate speech." If SB1234 becomes law, no pastor will be able to preach on the topic of homosexuality without the fear of prison. It's already happening in Canada. What will happen when a denomination refuses to marry gay couples in their churches and is faced with a lawsuit? Elections have their consequences; they're coming like a steamroller.
A time of harvest
Like many mega-church pastors, Rick Warren minimizes sin and judgment in order to appeal to those attending his Saddleback Church in Southern California. He has been accused of not strongly defending traditionalists and for allowing New Age teachings known as the Spiritual Formation Movement a foothold within his own church.
As members of the family of God, we should ask why some willfully ignore God's Word and follow misguided, social-justice churches with pastors who delight in dredging up the past and conveniently forget the progress that has been achieved in America. Today, anyone can be what they want to be in America. When will we all learn to grow in loving stature and forgiveness, and not assail the Most Holy God? Bigotry and preaching separatism are sinful. Do you hear me, Rev. Jeremiah Wright?
A vibrant people of faith are active in doing good works for their fellow man out of love for the Savior. Christianity must go beyond feeding the poor. Our message must be absolutely clear when it comes to answering questions such as Does God exist and Who was Jesus? Christians must be prepared to give answers for their faith in order to help save souls.
"Do you not say, 'Four months more and then the harvest'? I tell you, open your eyes and look at the fields! They are ripe for harvest." (John 4:35)
Fruit of poor moral judgment
Do not be ill-prepared and taken by surprise. We are living in perilous times. The Book of Revelation is relevant today. I urge everyone to reread it.
In the Book of Revelation, we find a wonderful truth. Our Lord revealed to John a beautiful benefit of studying this book: "Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein: for the time is at hand" (Revelation 1-3).
We read in Revelation 2:23, "I will give unto every one of you according to your works."
Throughout scripture, the Lord asks us to look after the needy as a matter of discipleship and compassion. The scriptures say not one thing about "spreading the wealth" or big government programs that entangle people in dependency. Socialism robs all people of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, not just the producers.
Since the President put his foot in the Oval Office, he has implemented a socialist agenda, contrary to sound moral judgment and good old common sense. Unfortunately, if Obama's health care plan is implemented, we will all live to see the day when the elderly will be offered death sentences. Euthanasia will become the norm. Liberals have no problem with abortion, including the hideous late-term procedure.
Religious contrasts between conservatives and liberals
The agendas of the progressive left and its dominance have had an effect on our great nation's morality. The result has been a decline in moral standards. With a Democratic House, Senate, and White House, there are few checks and balances. It is time for Americans to become aware of the contrary perspectives held by liberals and conservatives. A recent study highlighted many important differences:
Excerpts from The Christian Post: "Faith Beliefs of Conservatives, Liberals Differ Greatly" —
"Social, political conservatives differ significantly from liberals regarding religious beliefs, according to a new study that compared the two groups on more than a dozen religious beliefs.
"Liberals are dramatically less likely than conservatives to say they believe that the Bible is totally accurate in all of its teachings (27 percent vs. 63 percent, respectively), the survey conducted by The Barna Group found.
"Only about a third (38 percent) of liberals say their faith is becoming an increasingly important moral guide in their life. By comparison, 70 percent of conservatives say their faith is an important moral guide.
"Also fewer liberals than conservatives believe that a person cannot earn their way into Heaven by doing good deeds or being a good person (23 percent vs. 37 percent).
"George Barna, the study's lead researcher, commented that liberals appear to place more emphasis on 'self-reliance' and 'what they personally accomplish' than on faith or participation in a faith community.
"'They also seem less inclined to trust the Bible as a moral authority or source of truth, and have less involvement in some type of personal relationship with their god.'
"In contrast, Barna said conservatives are more active in religious behaviors.
"'They are also more connected to their deity, seeing God as more personal, interactive and involved in their lives than do liberals,' the researcher noted.
"A little more than half of liberals (54 percent) say their religious faith is very important in their life, compared to 82 percent of conservatives. The importance of faith in the life of a social or political liberal compared to a conservative can also be seen in the difference in church attendance and how they view it.
"Thirty-seven percent of liberals say the church they currently attend is very important in helping them find direction and fulfillment in life whereas 62 percent of conservatives say church is important as a guide in their life.
"In a typical week, conservatives are more likely than liberals to read the Bible other than at church (57 percent, vs. 33 percent); attend religious service (62 percent vs. 35 percent); pray to God other than at a religious service (91 percent vs. 76 percent); share their religious beliefs with others during the past year (56 percent vs. 39 percent, among born-again Christians for each group); and have participated in a short-term missions trip in the U.S. or in another country (12 percent vs. 6 percent).
"The survey also found those liberals are more likely than conservatives to develop their own set of religious beliefs rather than adopt those proposed by a church or other entity. More liberals than conservatives also said they are very open to adopting different moral views than the ones they currently have." Full Article
The Rock of Christ
With the stark contrasts between progressives and conservatives, many cannot understand how extreme moral policies are accepted by those who call themselves Christians. There is little of what progressives embrace that is Christ-like or scriptural. To the progressive, a baby's life, while in its mother's womb, is cheap, same-sex "marriage" is acceptable, and children should be taught that the gay lifestyle is normal. When the Word of the Creator God is twisted and distorted, it leads to social degradation. We are already there.
Repeatedly, there comes a clarion call to spiritual revival and rededication to a loving God. America, it is the time to meet current conditions head-on, with faithful hearts, if we are serious about taking back our beloved country. If Christians fail, America will also.
"If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land" (2 Chronicles 7:14).

"That wasn't me" says President Barack Hussein Obama

While driving home from work one evening on a very rainy night, I stopped for a red light and saw a disheveled-looking man who seemed to appear out of nowhere. He held a squeegee in his hand and began to wipe my windshield. It made no sense to me as it was steadily raining. He obviously wanted me to give him some money.
Suddenly, the intermittent wipers kicked in, and the one on the driver's side was broken by his squeegee. He yelled at me: "It's really not my fault." Muttering profanities, he disappeared into the night. I was left to drive home with a broken wiper blade on a rainy night. I thought to myself while straining to see through the rain: "If it wasn't his fault, whose fault was it?
People often find a need to hold others culpable for their own wrongdoing, even when there is no logic to their reasoning whatsoever. Those who cheat on their income taxes may rationalize that it's the government's fault for mishandling their money, or that the tax rates are too high.
It appears to me that no matter what people do wrong, some will always find an excuse for it. There are far too many who have become adept at avoiding even the idea that they have acted irresponsibly.
Self-deception
Blaming others goes all the way back to the Garden of Eden. The Almighty Himself had to question the two people He created who had fallen into sin. Adam and Eve were asked some pretty tough questions. "Then the Lord God called to Adam and said to him, "Where are you?" So Adam said, "I heard your voice in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked; and I hid myself." And God said, "Who told you that you were naked? Have you eaten from the tree of which I commanded you that you should not eat?" (
Genesis 3:9-11). Please look at the pathetic excuse Adam gave to God: "The woman you put here with me — she gave me some fruit from the tree, and I ate it" (Genesis 3:12).
Adam gave an accurate account of what happened. However, that was not the entire picture. His response was an attempt to deflect responsibility for his mistake onto someone else. And if you read very carefully, you'll see that he had the nerve not to only blame Eve, he also blamed God. "Hey," Adam said, "it's not my fault I ate it — it's that woman you gave me that made this happen."
This was the very first time mankind began passing off blame onto others. And humanity has been doing it ever since. It would be refreshing if people took responsibility, instead of trying to put a positive spin on absolutely everything wrong that they have done.
Deceiving the public
Lies and blame flourish within the political arena. Take, for instance, President G. W. Bush and his administration. Bush was continually being viciously attacked by members of the Democrat Party for political gain. They became contemptuous vipers.
While America was at war against terror, a very strange act of transference was taking place. The opposition deflected their own dishonesty toward a Republican president and his cabinet. The "culture of corruption" was the slogan used to help erode Bush's credibility during the first two years of his second term.
The drive-by-media succeeded in demoralizing our country on every front. Lies about Iraq, our troops, and the Bush economy were laid out daily. By the time Bush left office, the American public's view of G. W. was not a flattering one.
This propaganda hit its height in Bush's last months. As the housing debacle took place, everything began to unravel. Eventually, we saw a decent and humble man who kept us safe from terrorism depart from Washington, D.C., to build his presidential library, museum, and institute in the State of Texas.
'Barry, we hardly knew ye'
This week, America and its formidable ally Israel once again had to contend with an arrogant, self-serving, vindictive man who felt the need to embarrass his own country by apologizing for America's generosity and greatness. We have liberated millions of Muslims throughout the world and have saved many of their lives. Where is the acknowledgement for doing so? We did not hear that in Obama's dialogue with the Muslim movers and shakers, just more of his pandering.
For many, it has become evident that Obama does not respect our country — and it's very likely his disdain for America began in his early childhood. His formative years were unsettling. His Kenyan father abandoned his mother; she was forced to rely heavily on her relatives to bring up her son.
Obama's Chicago friends were antisocial, anti-America radicals. Williams Ayers and his wife are still unrepentant terrorists. As Obama and the media tried to stifle the news concerning his Muslim upbringing, they also covered up the full picture of who our president's friends and political allies were.
Like many taught in the Saul Alinsky mindset, our president always puts the blame on others for what he is doing to our country. It's always the past administration's fault. "That wasn't me," President Barack Obama said while disclaiming responsibility for the huge budget deficit waiting for him on day one. Yet in four short months, he has spent more of taxpayers' money than any president who has held office since the founding of this country. And with this outrageous spending, there is no accountability.
Man of many disguises
The president is not really a cool and laid-back nice guy. He just appears to be. He disguises his true character. No one steps on Barry's toes or speaks badly about him without feeling his anger. He will take action against anyone who tries, including the same media that helped put him into the White House. He will take on heads of state even if it means rudely snubbing them. To those who displease him, he removes the opportunity of having a photo op with America's "historical" president.
People in power within the United Kingdom, France, and Germany understand that Obama is a person who is extraordinarily impressed with himself. It's most unfortunate that Obama does not understand that foreign leaders are laughing and snickering behind his back — including the leaders of Al-Qaeda.
Barack believes that when he speaks, he can sway anyone. He told Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid that he "has a gift." As this president cavalierly captains our nation toward the brink, he maintains a vision of himself as one who possesses special abilities. That is frightening to those of us who know better. Louis Farrakhan of the Nation of Islam told Obama who he was. "Barack has captured the youth; he will bring about universal change." "The Messiah is absolutely speaking."
His most recent speeches shed light on mounds of deception. Throughout his campaign, no one was allowed to use his middle name without being attacked and maligned. When photographs of Obama surfaced with him wearing Kenyan garb, the mainstream media immediately denounced their authenticity. When it came to his professed Christian faith, there were no questions asked by reporters or journalists that would have given Americans any true insight. The electorate voted blindly.
Irreligion
Two years ago, author and columnist Erik Rush brought to America's attention the connection between Obama and Rev. Jeremiah Wright. Mr. Rush appeared at the time as a guest on Fox News' Hannity & Colmes show to expose this and enlighten America about what few understood.
Churches that teach Black Liberation Theology are not biblically-sound denominations. Liberation theology is nothing more than bigoted, anti-Semitic hatemongering. Its roots come from Marxism. God's Word refers to such false teachings as Babylon. Babel became known in a pun as balal, which means confusion. (See Genesis 11:1-9.)
Americans who voted for Obama would have not done so if they fully understood who he was and how much his religious beliefs would affect his leadership. Many did not see Obama as a far-left socialist, nor did they understand the extent to which Obama has embraced the teachings of Afrocentric black nationalist "churches."
To this day, Obama and his family have not chosen a new Christian church, nor have shown any interest in doing so. They are not seen attending services on any given Lord's Day.
Megachurch Pastor Rick Warren should have thought twice before he considered giving any support to a man who seems to have issues that are related to his spirituality. In retrospect, Warren should have taken a wise man's advice before he befriended Obama. "Trust, but verify." — Ronald Reagan
The First Family closed their doors during the National Day of Prayer. It raised disappointment within the Christian community. The National Day of Prayer has long been essential to America's heritage. Traditionally, U.S. presidents have taken part in honoring the faith of our forefathers. But then Obama says America is not a Christian nation. He will continue telling that lie, even in Muslim countries. According to him, we have one of the largest Muslim populations. In reality, America has the second largest Jewish population in the world next to the State of Israel.
Anti-Israel
New polls show that Americans do not like where Obama is taking this country. Many are beginning to understand the dangers of his political ideology. Just weeks ago, another poll voiced the public's growing concerns. Americans want checks and balances to curtail much of Obama's agenda.
We have had the truth denied us a by media that willingly participates in shielding this president. From the beginning, there never was any transparency concerning Obama. People are befuddled and confused; even as they see our economy continue to tank and jobs disappear, they still cling to the slogan of "Hope and Change."
The president delivered an eloquent outreach speech to Muslim nations. What has he accomplished but to bring more scorn upon the State of Israel and the United States of America?

"President Obama promised that he wanted his Cairo speech to be the start of an "honest" dialogue with the Muslim world. When it comes to how he handled the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, he fell short.
"He began his remarks on this issue by recalling a long history of anti-Semitism and persecution of Jews, culminating in the Holocaust. He denounced Holocaust deniers and those who would threaten Israel 'with destruction' — but without mentioning Iran or Ahmadinejad.
"Seeking to sound even-handed, he then immediately drew an equivalence between historical Jewish suffering and the lot of Palestinians. "On the other hand," he remarked, 'it is also undeniable that Palestinians have suffered in their pursuit of a homeland — for more than 60 years they've endured the pain of dislocation." He pointed to Palestinians still waiting in refugee camps and Palestinians who have to 'endure the daily humiliations — large and small — that come with occupation.' Their situation, he said, is 'intolerable' and America will support their legitimate aspirations for 'dignity, opportunity and 'state of their own.' And that's where Obama failed to speak 'honestly' about Palestinian pain and its causes.
"For starters, he drew a totally false analogy between the Holocaust and the Palestinian pain of 'dislocations' and 'daily humiliations' under Israeli occupation. The parallel between the deliberate slaughter of 6 million Jews and the lot of Palestinians in refugee camps and in the West Bank and Gaza, where the UN supplies them with schools, food and shelter, is unsupportable." Fight back
Obama's words might have tickled the ears of some Muslim dignitaries. However, many Americans who think objectively and understand world history found them insulting and inaccurate. As he flits all over Europe and the Middle East, Obama purposefully plays every angle toward collapsing our economy. It is his America, not ours. While he undermines the country we love, we are feeling helpless. There is little doubt in the minds of many of us that Obama is pushing our nation down the dead-end road to socialism. After all, he is his father's child.
We cannot allow our cherished freedoms to slip away. Begin today to fight back and preserve our liberties. Do everything within the law to regain what we have already lost. Wisdom and truth shall set us free from tyranny. Pray and ask the Lord to give you both.
What America needs — if it is to survive in liberty — is a surge in citizen activism unlike anything our nation has ever before seen.
The success of such a grassroots movement will depend on how much individual citizens are willing to do their part to return our country to divinely-inspired principles of self-governance — those principles outlined by the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution, and those validated by common sense and biblical teaching as self-evidently true.
If you feel you need to "wait for instructions," or otherwise depend on others — especially those in positions of leadership — to guide and assist you, our country will not survive these perilous times. You must act as though the future of our country depends on you alone, for in a very real sense it does. It depends on the creative, responsible, exemplary initiative of yourself and those you inspire to similar patriotism.

There is a helpless, sinister sense that seems to be hanging like a heavy weight over the country. One can compare the emotion to that of a death of a loved one — America.
Many astute individuals are beginning to understand that something very different from changes of the past is happening to their country. The Democratic National Committee has adopted an extreme, radical-left ideology. It no longer represents the party our parents remember. It would be more aptly renamed the Democratic Socialist Party.
What does a politically-left agenda mean to the average Joe and Jane? Well, unless you've been living in a cave: President Obama's agenda is to increase big government and give us more entitlement programs that will never pan out. He is demanding redistribution of wealth, whether we like it or not. These initiatives will diminish individual liberties — although that, of course, is not being widely discussed.
Every working class individual will have more taxes taken out of their earnings, while a biased media purposefully keeps us ill-informed and even eager for this wonderful change, preparing us to embrace socialism. Since he took office, President Obama has been working hard to undermine our nation. He does not want America to succeed. Obama hates what he perceives our country to be, and he will not be content until he remakes our nation to his liking.
Corrupt agenda
Take, for instance, our economy. It is now far worse than it was before President G. W. Bush left office. For almost seven years, we were living the good life. People had bucks in their pockets and jobs. And Bush and Vice President Dick Cheney kept our homeland safe from terrorism.
Obama has made us all less financially secure and less safe, yet both Bush and Cheney are continuously vilified by the media and the Democrat Party. Obama, meanwhile, gets a "free ride." He has a long list of political friends and cohorts who have corrupt and questionable backgrounds, yet this is the man who was elected president and is now Commander-in-Chief of our troops.
Timothy Geithner is a tax cheat, yet he was given the job of Secretary of the Treasury. This should have never happened. With Geithner's input, Obama continues to spend taxpayer (yet to be) earned money and cares little about the private entrepreneurial sector, which grows our economy. What happened to our free enterprise system? The government is taking over just about every aspect of our lives. Were you consulted?
Obama's policies are all geared to bring down this country as we know it. None of his political, economical, or social engineering strategies make sense, because they're not meant to. Some of us are taken aback and frightened when we observe the veiled and rationalized seizure of power, but the smooth-talking Chicago thug has at least half of America mesmerized.
Master deceiver
Some Americans desire a check on Obama's political overreaching. According to a recent poll conducted by McLaughlin and Associates, people are becoming skittish and worrisome.
Excerpts from the Associated Press, April 29, 2009: "Obama disowns deficit he helped shape," by Calvin Woodward —
"WASHINGTON (AP) — 'That wasn't me,' President Barack Obama said on his 100th day in office, disclaiming responsibility for the huge budget deficit waiting for him on Day One.
"It actually was him — and the other Democrats controlling Congress the previous two years — who shaped a budget so out of balance.
"And as a presidential candidate and president-elect, he backed the twilight Bush-era stimulus plan that made the deficit deeper, all before he took over and promoted spending plans that have made it much deeper still.
"His assertion that his proposed budget 'will cut the deficit in half by the end of my first term' is an eyeball-roller among many economists, given the uncharted terrain of trillion-dollar deficits and economic calamity that the government is negotiating.
"A look at some of his claims Wednesday:
"OBAMA: 'Number one, we inherited a $1.3 trillion deficit.... That wasn't me. Number two, there is almost uniform consensus among economists that in the middle of the biggest crisis, financial crisis, since the Great Depression, we had to take extraordinary steps. So you've got a lot of Republican economists who agree that we had to do a stimulus package and we had to do something about the banks. Those are one-time charges, and they're big, and they'll make our deficits go up over the next two years.' — in Missouri.
"THE FACTS: Congress controls the purse strings, not the president, and it was under Democratic control for Obama's last two years as Illinois senator. Obama supported the emergency bailout package in President George W. Bush's final months — a package Democratic leaders wanted to make bigger.
"The economy has worsened under Obama, though from forces surely in play before he became president, and he can credibly claim to have inherited a grim situation.
"OBAMA: 'I think one basic principle that we know is that the more we do on the (disease) prevention side, the more we can obtain serious savings down the road. ... If we're making those investments, we will save huge amounts of money in the long term.' — in Missouri.
"THE FACTS: It sounds believable that preventing illness should be cheaper than treating it, and indeed that's the case with steps like preventing smoking and improving diets and exercise. But during the 2008 campaign, when Obama and other presidential candidates were touting a focus on preventive care, the New England Journal of Medicine cautioned that 'sweeping statements about the cost-saving potential of prevention, however, are overreaching.' It said that 'although some preventive measures do save money, the vast majority reviewed in the health economics literature do not.'
"And a study released in December by the Congressional Budget Office found that increasing preventive care 'could improve people's health but would probably generate either modest reductions in the overall costs of health care or increases in such spending within a 10-year budgetary time frame.'
"OBAMA: 'You could cut (Social Security) benefits. You could raise the tax on everybody so everybody's payroll tax goes up a little bit. Or you can do what I think is probably the best solution, which is you can raise the cap on the payroll tax.' — in Missouri.
"THE FACTS: Obama's proposal would reduce the Social Security trust fund's deficit by less than half, according to the nonpartisan Tax Policy Center. That means he would still have to cut benefits, raise the payroll tax rate, raise the retirement age or some combination to deal with the program's long-term imbalance." Full article
Propaganda arm of government
The president is a well-spoken liar, yet he gets a pass from journalists who should take their jobs seriously instead of being partisan. With freedom of the press ought to come integrity, veracity, and responsible reporting. With few exceptions, there has been very little in the media to tout lately.

What our Founding Fathers had in mind regarding freedom of the press was for the press to have reasonable latitude as a watchdog for the people. Unfortunately, the media have become the propaganda arm of government — selectively informing the public in order to promote a socialist agenda.
Many within the media covet positions in government and ultimately hope to attain such influence. Interestingly, many in government equally covet positions in the media, and ultimately hope to attain positions of influence there. The problem with this is that the media have become virtually inseparable from the corrupt government they are meant to monitor. The media's job is to inform "We The People." Instead, they have turned against their own country by becoming activists for the communist usurper who sits in the White House.
There was no way our forefathers could possibly have foreseen the amount of harm the media could generate today. TV, radio, and the World Wide Web have quite literally become the assault weapons of liberalism's worldview. The American public is no longer being truthfully informed.
"The price of liberty..."
There will be a price to pay for our lack of attention. When all is said and done, the media may cost us everything, including our liberties and freedom. Way too many in the press are agenda-driven, crazed ideologues. A biased presentation is shown nightly on all the mainstream news networks. They taint and slant the political and social issues of the day.
"We The People" must make them stop. Let's bring them down and force the issue by way of peaceful demonstrations and a boycott of their advertisers. It is about time we began a media blitz of our own. Through concerted action, we can coordinate rallies that end up at the doors of ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN, and all their alphabetical affiliates.
There is a need for right-minded citizens to regain their confidence that activism can make a difference. Millions of us will be needed to force the media to deliver news that addresses issues important to our lives and our democratic republic.
May we become prayerful and solemn as we consider what The Almighty God might allow to occur in the USA. Under this presidency, we've become a nation gone wrong. The Lord judges us as a nation, not only as individuals. Will He withhold His providential care, protection, and intervention from us?
